The first Christmas celebration was in Bethlehem, not around a decorated tree filled with twinkling lights, but in a stable with animals and smelly straw: “And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger (Luke 2:7a). Mary didn’t have colorful wrapping paper and a fancy bow but lovingly wrapped Jesus with ordinary cloth strips. The name tag on God’s sacrificial love-Gift read: To the World. With love from God.
God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, and
whoever believes in Him will have everlasting life (John 3:16). When you accept
Jesus, God’s priceless gift, you can unwrap and enjoy all the benefits of a complete,
meaningful life God has in store for your journey of faith or leave them wrapped
and only settle for the security of eternal life with Him. Others choose not to
receive God’s gift. But either way, those who neglect Jesus or reject Him: Celebrating
Christmas is meaningless without Christ.
