A toddler works, with frustration mounting, to fit a square
block into the round hole. You want to help, but the little one quickly rejects
the offer with, “I want to do it.”
We smile at such recollections, yet we are sometimes just as stubborn as the toddler. We make our agendas, set our goals, map out our plans, and begin the process of making them become a reality. Unless we start our tasks at hand with, “God, this is the desire of my heart, but I want what you want” approach, we will find ourselves frustrated and weary from pounding on square blocks, doing our best to force them into round holes. We will eventually achieve the tasks with determination by doing them our way, but not without leaving the blocks and holes misshapen and scarred.
A toddler has an
excuse for such behavior, but we do not.
Chris is staring a new job. And when I say new it’s completely new. New career all together, he’ll be home every night, but his salary is almost half. 5-10 years ago I would have been scared to death. But God has written this chapter in our book completely. Yes we have made these decisions together he and I but they have been prayerful and we have stopped and listened. Your words have continued to encourage me this morning to not be afraid of this new chapter in our book but to also make sure what actions are we going to take in this new chapter that bring glory to God my Father.
ReplyDeleteWill continue praying for your family. I know you're grateful God has provided this new job for Chris and that he will be home each night. Even though the pay is much less than before, God is aware of what you need. Only He knows what Chris is being prepared for, but we know it will be God's best! Let's pray this new chapter in your book will splash blessings on everyone in your family's path. God bless, Sweet Sister.
